Ready to make some science magic? 🧪

This week at Junior Inventors, participants will explore science through a series of fun experiments! They’ll make elephant toothpaste, create a cloud in a jar, and build DIY lava lamps while discovering the excitement of experimenting and creating.

Each week features a new challenge blending science, technology, and engineering in a supportive, curiosity-driven environment. Parents are welcome to stay and explore as well.

Details:
• Time: Drop in anytime between 4:30-6:30 PM
• Ages: Open to K-8 students and families
• Cost: Free with museum admission or membership
• Location: Science & Industry Center (open until 7 PM for Junior Inventors families)

Join us for after-school STEM programming and explore the math of flight! Learn about the forces of aerodynamics as you test paper airplanes, record data, and discover what makes a plane soar. ✈️

After a busy Auction Week, the museum has a few schedule updates before regular programming returns!

Museum Closed to the Public

OHTM will remain closed to the public for NEAA auction pickup ONLY. The museum will reopen to the public Tuesday, August 25.

Thursday, August 27
Junior Inventors: Paper Airplane Technicians | grades K–8 & families
4:30–6:30 PM

Junior Inventors returns this week with an exploration of aerodynamics! Participants will test paper airplanes, learn about the forces that affect flight, and record data as they experiment with different designs.

The Science & Industry Center will remain open until 7 PM for Junior Inventors families, giving everyone extra time to explore.

Free with museum admission or membership.

A few favorite moments from a summer of learning at OHTM! ☀️

Throughout summer camps, kids explored engines, discovered the science behind circuits, experimented with STEM challenges, got creative, and learned more about the technology and transportation that surround them.

That's a wrap on Week 6, and on another summer of OHTM Summer Camps! ☀️

The final week brought plenty of opportunities for campers to explore, create, experiment, and challenge themselves as they made the most of their last days at camp.

From the first week to the fifth, it has been a summer filled with STEM discoveries, creative projects, new skills, and plenty of fun.

Thank you to every camper and family who spent part of the summer at OHTM, and to the educators and volunteers who helped make each week possible. It was a great summer!

But the learning doesn't stop when summer does. Stay tuned for OHTM's fall educational programming, with more opportunities for kids and families to explore, create, and discover at the museum. 🍂

From unforgettable automotive stories to hands-on engineering challenges, there's something for every transportation enthusiast this week.

Wednesday, August 12
Guest Speaker: Tom Cotter of Barn Find Hunter
5:00–7:30 PM

Spend the evening with Tom Cotter, acclaimed automotive author and host of Barn Find Hunter. Hear incredible stories from years spent uncovering hidden classic cars and automotive history. Doors open at 5 PM, with the presentation taking place in the auditorium of the Science & Industry Center.

Thursday, August 13
Junior Inventors: Boat Makers | grades K–8 & families
4:30–6:30 PM

Young engineers will design and build boats using limited materials before putting their creations to the test. Participants will explore buoyancy, design, and problem-solving through this fun, hands-on STEM activity.

The Science & Industry Center and the entire museum remain open until 7 PM every Thursday, so families can continue exploring after Junior Inventors.
