Join us for Sounds of Bluegrass, a brand-new weekly concert series celebrating the rich tradition and vibrant future of bluegrass music!

This performance will feature Laura Orshaw:

Fiddler and vocalist Laura Orshaw has toured across North America and Europe with Danny Paisley & The Southern Grass, Alan Bibey & Grasstowne, and the GRAMMY-nominated Po’ Ramblin’ Boys.

A two-time IBMA Award winner, she was also named SPBGMA Fiddle Performer of the Year in 2019, the first woman to receive the honor. Her debut solo album, Solitary Diamond, earned significant airplay, with her highly anticipated sophomore album set for release in 2026.

Laura has performed with artists including Del McCoury, Ricky Skaggs, Old Crow Medicine Show, Becky Buller, and Jim Lauderdale. Laura is also a highly sought-after instructor who has taught numerous camps and workshops.

The Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum mourns the passing of Dolly Parton, a beloved icon whose extraordinary life and music were deeply rooted in the Appalachian traditions that helped create bluegrass music.

Born and raised in the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee, Dolly grew up surrounded by the sounds of old-time and mountain music. Those traditions—banjo, fiddle, guitar, close harmonies, and the timeless songs of Appalachia—became an enduring part of her musical voice and helped shape one of the greatest songwriters and performers of our time.

Though Dolly’s career carried her across country, pop, gospel, and countless other musical landscapes, she never lost sight of her roots. Her bluegrass albums, including Grammy-winning The Grass Is Blue and Little Sparrow, demonstrated not only her remarkable versatility but also her deep respect for the musicians and traditions that came before her. Her collaborations with bluegrass legends including Earl Scruggs, Ricky Skaggs, Alison Krauss, The Grascals, and Rhonda Vincent, and many more further reflected her lifelong connection to the music.

She was honored with six IBMA awards, including Album of the Year, Collaborative Recording of the Year, and Gospel Recorded Performance of the Year.

Dolly understood that bluegrass was more than a style of music; it was a living expression of Appalachian heritage, family, storytelling, and community. Through her extraordinary career, she introduced those traditions to generations of listeners around the world while remaining unmistakably connected to the mountains that shaped her.

The Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum extends its deepest condolences to Dolly’s family, friends, collaborators, and the countless people whose lives were touched by her music, generosity, and spirit.

Throughout his 30+ year career, Dan Tyminski has left his mark in every corner of modern music. His voice famously accompanies George Clooney in "O Brother, Where Art Thou?," bringing the Stanley Brothers’ classic “I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow” to life on the big screen. His latest release is the Grammy-nominated 2024 concert album "Dan Tyminski: Live From The Ryman." Throughout his career, Dan has been honored with 14 Grammy Awards and recognized four times as Male Vocalist of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association.

Originally from Wi******er, Kentucky, Brenna MacMillan began playing banjo at age nine. After performing throughout Kentucky and studying at Berea College, she moved to Nashville, where she toured and recorded with her brother in Theo & Brenna Band.

Since 2022, Brenna has worked with artists including Della Mae, East Nash Grass, Bronwyn Keith-Hynes, Jason Carter, and Hillary Klug. She released her debut solo album, Dear Life, in 2024, blending traditional banjo, Kentucky roots, West African rhythms, and heartfelt storytelling. Her music has since taken her across the U.S., Canada, and Ireland.
