It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David "Dave" Scott Pudles. David, age 62, passed away unexpectedly on August 18, 2026. Born May 12, 1964, in Old Bridge, New Jersey, David grew up in Old Bridge before relocating to Central Florida, where he resided in the Winter Park area.

Professionally, David was the proud owner and operator of Pudles Pressure Washing. Beyond his business, David dedicated his life to serving others. Known widely as a gentle, caring, and selfless soul—and a lover of good humor and joke t-shirts—he was a natural community champion and a hero to countless youth and special needs families. Many of the young people he interacted with thought of him as a mentor, role model, and a second father.

David’s passion for service was central to his life. While in New Jersey, David was an active member of his local Optimist Club as well as the local volunteer ambulance squad. After moving to Florida, he became deeply involved with the Oviedo Winter Springs Optimist Club, proudly served as Governor for the Florida District of Optimist International, and was active in the Rotary Club of Winter Springs. He also gave generously of his leadership as Board Chair for the Arbor School of Central Florida. He would also volunteer support to many other local organizations as needed.

Above all, David was a devoted family man and a true friend. He shared 28 wonderful years of marriage with his wife, Shari. He was an incredible father to his son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Courtney Pudles, and a beloved brother not only to his biological family, but to a close-knit "Framily" of friends who considered him a chosen brother.

David is survived by his loving wife, Shari Pudles; his son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Courtney Pudles; his brothers and sisters-in-law: Steve Pudles and Lisa Souliere-Geran of Feeding Hills, MA; Gary Pudles and Dr. Melanie Pudles of North Wales, PA; as well as extended family and a vast circle of lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joan Pudles (d. 1994) and Michael J. Pudles (d. 2007).

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 24, 2026, at Ohev Shalom Cemetery, located at 6034 Old Winter Garden Rd, Orlando, FL 32835.

Shiva will be observed following the funeral service through Wednesday at the Pudles home, with visitors being received between 10am and 8pm, daily.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in David’s memory to the Oviedo Winter Springs Optimist Club (https://owsoc.com/donate) or the Winter Springs Rotary Foundation, or to the Arbor School of Central Florida.

May his memory be a blessing.

Some things in Sanford never go out of style. 🚲

Long before the Riverwalk had its paved path, these two young cyclists were already enjoying the same Lake Monroe shoreline — bikes, lake breeze, and all. More than a century later, that exact stretch is where so many of us still ride and stroll.

Happy World Bicycle Day! 🚴‍♀️
