Please stop by the museum during Applefest 2026. We will have some neat and interesting things happening for the whole family.

We are tentatively planning on having some living historians attending our apple festivities this year again at the museum. A young man who is a WWII re-enactor will be on site with his authentic military regalia and will be assisting with our fi****ms history presentation as well. If military history is your thing, plan on stopping by and visiting with him.

Mark your Calendar for 2026 Applefest at the Harlan County Historical Museum; Saturday October 3rd. We are planning some neat activities for the event. There will be the Blacksmith Shop open, an antique fi***rm presentation covering the history of the handgun, and more events to be announced.

The teepee is up! Come visit us tomorrow. The museum and blacksmith shop will be open from 9-2. The antique fi****ms presentation will be in front of the museum, under the awning, at 11:00 am or directly after the parade.

HARLAN COUNTY MUSEUM IN ORLEANS (north of swimming pool)
This week the Museum will be open their normal hours of Thursday-Friday-Saturday, 1-4pm PLUS
Mike Valenzuela plans to work in the Blacksmith Shop which is part of the Museum on Wednesday and Thursday at about 2pm and two other Smiths will come at about 4pm.
While in Orleans for the Fair, check out the Museum and the special activities at the Blacksmith Shop.
Museum will be open for viewing Thursday through Saturday 1-4 pm
