Louisiana Orphan Train Rider, Joe Aillet, was a coach at Louisiana Tech from 1940 to 1966 and is widely regarded as one of the most successful and influential figures in the school’s sports history. His influence goes beyond just football through his contributions to the overall development of the school’s culture and spirit.

We enjoyed our recent visit to Louisiana Tech University and Joe Aillet Stadium in honor of this Hall of Fame Coach.
Thanks for the North Louisiana hospitality!

Evangeline Downs Wreath of Hope 2024.
This year our theme represents the diversity of the Louisiana orphan train riders.
Some of these orphans learned later in life they were of many different nationalities due to their original orphan names.
Many of these children's descendants are still uncertain of their family heritage even to present day.

Come out and support us by voting for our wreath @ Evangeline Downs. Voting schedule is November 22, 2024 through December 17, 2024.
