Last group of the season!

We had a quick visit from Paul Smiths College first year class. Dave talked about the history of the center, the resilience of Indigenous people, and the structure of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy.

This and many of Dave’s latest works will be on display this summer, and we have prints for sale too!

This powerful painting by David Kanietakeron Fadden, reflects the pain, fear and sadness native children were forced to endure by U.S. and Canadian government residential schools for decades. As the timeline moves forward, we see the inner strength and color of life, return in the children's smiling faces as their culture prevails despite the efforts of the foreign governments.

We had a wonderful group from the class “Land Use Changes in the Adirondacks” from St. Lawrence University! They got to hear the history of the Center and Haudenosaunee culture. The class asked very thoughtful questions and closed out the visit with lots of Hacky Sack-ing in the parking lot ☺️
