I might be in the hot seat for posting this, but I’ll take the risk. These two deserve a reminder of just how appreciated and impactful they are! ❤️
As the castle opens back up for another season, I want to brag on these two. Mom and Dean, without you, grandpa’s legacy would be just a memory. I could write a book, or even two, about how the castle has changed our family’s life and created some of the most precious memories and times we all cherish, but there’s also a lot to be said about the impact the castle has on complete strangers, our neighbors, and even guests from all over the world.
You both have a work ethic like I have never seen and I believe so much of that is driven by the great passion and love you have for what grandpa built. I see all of the long days and hard work y’all put into keeping his legacy alive. Season after season, yall make it happen! You open the gates so guests can stroll the property and soak in it’s beauty, enjoy the yummiest meals made with lots of love, and admire Grandpas artwork and all the things he created. Many people come out to celebrate their anniversaries and birthdays, Sunday lunch nearly every week, bring their out of town guest, enjoy holiday lunches, and celebrate life’s milestones. You both dedicate nearly every moment of your lives to keep the castle alive for others to come enjoy!
Beyond Grandpa’s legacy that you so loving pour into, yall are also leaving your own mark. More than the happy place you share with everyone, the way you both treat others will always be one of the things I admire most. From making your customers feel like family to how well you care for your employees. I bet they too would agree y’all don’t make them feel like they work “for” you, but “with” you. They are family! You so graciously serve our neighbors and make a gathering place for them to catch up and visit.
For some people, it’s more than just a place to visit. It’s such a happy place, they come on their hard days, maybe an anniversary of a lost loved one, a life struggle, or a time of loneliness. People choose to come visit during their hardships because of how you make them feel. You both have a very special way of making people feel valued and cared about. You both love people so well.
All that to say, THANK YOU! Thank you for being you, for loving people so well, and for giving so much of yourselves to something that means so much to so many. The world needs more people like y’all!
🏰 Here’s to another season! Grandpa would be so proud!
❤️ Hope
