Wow, what an amazing turnout for our Grand Reopening!
The cookies have been eaten, the raffle baskets given away and our volunteers have gotten some sleep.
I have a thank you list a mile long and I hope I remember everyone.
First and foremost I need to thank the OAHS board members. They have curated and maintained our museum for many years and trusted our newer volunteers to make big changes to the exhibit floor. Thank you Margaret, Doris, and Carol for all your years and hard work.
Scott- Our president and driving force. You managed to keep everything on track and everyone playing nice in the sandbox. The hours you put into this cannot be understated. Thank you for everything you have done for the museum.
To our exhibition committee who spent long work nights for the last 5 months moving, cleaning, assembling, coordinating, laughing, and stressing to make this event and museum special. Thank you Scott, Paula, Jamie, Julie Brandon, and everyone else who spent nights volunteering. We couldn't have done this without you.
A huge thank you to Eric for building our jail door exhibit, hanging the big sign and the scoreboard. Your skills and help really elevated what we were able to display.
Russ, the scoreboard is an amazing centerpiece display that you brought back to life spending way too many hours restoring. Thank you!
The City of Omro Utilities and DPW staff. You provided the manpower and equipment get the big items into the museum. We wouldn't have all the great items on display without your help. Thank you Jason, Travis, Lester, Tyler, Stu and Joe.
Our local businesses that helped support us. All Electric Service, Omro Building Center, Sol Vino, Miller Auto. Thank you for the donations and help along the way.
All of our raffle basket donors - I don't even want to try to list them all as ill for sure forget some. But all the 40 some businesses across the state that donated to our raffle we couldn't be more thankful.
The amazing cookies were made by a good friend of mine. Cassidy, you really added a special touch.
Those who helped promote this event to make sure people knew it was happening and how to get there. Thank you to Future Omro - A Chamber-Main Street Program, Miller Auto, Fremont Area Historical Society Tony Daley and all those that liked and shared our posts.
Thank you to everyone who came to support us. It means the world to us that you navigated construction and detours to support local history and our event. Support from our community allows us to continue preserving history for years to come!
