A Vintage 1966 Madame Alexander Victoria doll. I painted her because she only came in White. Many Black mothers in the past often dyed or painted dolls because Blacks folls were not accessible or the doll was only made White.

For you aspiring or non collectors, most dolls are considered Vintage if the year of production was 20 to 99 years ago.

There are a number of doll related FB pages, but the problem is most are centered around White dolls and only occasionally will you get to see a Black or Brown doll. So I am asking fellow doll collectors, to joing me in flooding facebook with these cute little Black snd Brown faces too. Please use this page to showcase the Black and Brown dolls in your collection, and others too. If you want to write a little something with the doll please do.

*NOTE- Because the page is public, please be careful of unscrupulous people offering to buy or sell dolls. Do your due diligence as this page will neither endorse nor be responsible for transactions.

NEWS!!
Hey folks in order to be more efficient in posting and purpose, I have merged the formerly known page Saralee/ Patti Jo page with a newly formed page for Black doll collectors named Society of Black Doll Collectors and Friends. This is a new space to share your pictures and contribute to sharing the history of Black dolls- Or you might just want to hang out with us for the pictures and conversations. Either way, your time will be well spent.
