We had an amazing time last weekend with our human and robot friends!

We want to extend a huge thank you to all the robotics groups from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the University of Nebraska-Omaha for sharing their knowledge and fun with everyone.

From battle bots to robot building, it was a great STEM day at the Luminarium. Let us know in the comments if you would like to have the robots, and humans, back soon.

🧪🎨 Science meets art in a colorful BioDiscovery Lab workshop happening Saturday (11AM)!

Meet Streptomyces, a fascinating soil bacterium that creates a color-changing pigment. Your challenge? Figure out how to extract the pigment from the bacteria's jelly-like home using water and scientific tools. Then experiment with it in test tubes to watch the colors transform before your eyes!

Part of our BioDiscovery Lab partnership with Metropolitan Community College (Nebraska), the workshop is free with the cost of daily admission or a membership.

Perfect for curious minds of all ages! Early registration is encouraged at: kiewitluminarium.org/events/biodiscovery-lab-bacterial-ink-2/

The eyes of the college baseball world are once again upon Omaha. Our staff at the Luminarium decided to break down the matchups in the only way we know how, with science and history!

We asked what would happen if the mascots for each team had a fight?

During the series, please come visit the Luminarium for special baseball exhibits and a chance to show support for your favorite team.

When you arrive, show us your game tickets and get 50% off the price of admission during the series.

Did you get your Night Light (21+) tickets yet?? On June 27 we're celebrating music, community, and the science of improvisation! During the night's community panel conversation we're asking the question: How can cities support authentic, people-centered growth, creating neighborhoods that are “improvised” rather than “contrived.”

We met participating panelist and landscape architect Kene Okigbo at one of his favorite places in Omaha: The Beltline Trailhead. As one of the key designers of the project, Kene shared some deep insights on how this project can be an example of development that keeps community at the heart of every decision.

Join us as we sink deep into this important conversation. Paul B. Allen IV () of 1st Sky Omaha will be our moderator, with panelists:

🌻 JoAnna LeFlore-Ejike | Malcolm X Memorial Foundation
🌻 Dr. DérNecia Phillips () | Identity Preparatory Academy
🌻 Celeste Butler ()| Multi-disciplinary artist, quiltologist, and storyteller
🌻 Kene Okigbo () | RDG Planning & Design

Grab your tickets at the link in our bio! Remember, every ticket includes a free specialty drink from who will also be open late for dinner and dessert!
