The Parthia has found her new home after nearly a decade. 🎉

Thank you to members of the South Sound Maritime Heritage Association, Port of Olympia, FORMA Construction, Thomas Architecture Studios, Panowicz Jewelers, Associated Boat Transport, Snell Crane Service, and the many volunteers who put countless hours of love and care into assisting with the restoration and helping support the move to the new location. And thank you to the Thurston County Chamber for helping us celebrate with a ribbon-cutting!

The work isn’t done. Even though the Parthia is in her new home, funds are still needed to help Raise the Roof to protect her from weather. You can learn more and support at https://maritimeolyorg.weebly.com.

Help Preserve Parthia!

Parthia has made an incredible journey, and community support is helping write what comes next.

Preserving Parthia is a project of the South Sound Maritime Heritage Association, the nonprofit organization that also produces the annual Olympia Harbor Days event.

Dozens of donors and community supporters have already helped rescue, restore, and relocate this historic tugboat.

Now, additional support is needed to complete the protective pavilion that will help preserve Parthia in her new home.

Every contribution helps protect an important piece of South Sound maritime history.

Learn more and support Parthia at MaritimeOly.org.

A Major Milestone for Parthia!

From the bottom of Hood Canal to a permanent home in Olympia.

Parthia’s August 18 move is a major milestone in an extraordinary preservation story, but the work isn’t done yet.

After the historic 1906 tug sank in Hood Canal in 2017, supporters came together to rescue and restore her. Now, Parthia is moving to her permanent home next to the Olympia Farmers Market.

But getting her there is only the next step.

Funding is still needed to construct the protective roof that will shelter Parthia from fall and winter storms and help preserve her for generations to come.

Help us Raise the Roof and finish the job.

Raise the Roof for Parthia

Parthia is moving, but the work isn’t finished.

On August 18, the historic 1906 tugboat Parthia will make an important move to her new permanent home next to the Olympia Farmers Market.

It’s a major milestone in a remarkable preservation effort, but getting Parthia into place is only part of the job.

Funding is still needed to build the protective roof that will shelter Parthia from the weather and help preserve her for generations to come.

The move gets Parthia home.
Your support helps Raise the Roof.

Help us complete the next critical phase of this project by making a contribution today.

The Big Move!

How do you move a 1906 tugboat? Very carefully. 🚢➡️🚛

Parthia’s journey to her new home will take a whole team and you can watch it happen.

On August 18:

⏰Approximately 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.:
⚓ The Port of Olympia’s Swantown Boatworks Travelift will lift Parthia onto a truck trailer.
đźš› Associated Boat Transport will transport her to the new site.

⏰Approximately 10:00 a.m.:
🏗️ Snell Crane Service will place her onto a concrete pad.
🔧 Zeigler's Welding is fabricating the permanent support stands.
🦺Construction Contractor: FORMA Construction

It’s an impressive operation and another major step toward preserving Parthia for the future. But getting her moved is not the end of the project.

Funding is still needed to construct the protective roof that will shelter Parthia in her new home and help protect this historic tug from fall and winter storms.

Help us finish the job. Support the Raise the Roof campaign at MaritimeOly.org.
