⛱️ Summer Art Camp is almost here! ☀️

Here's a sneak peak at some of our Week 1: Welcome Summer projects

☀️Abstract Typography Collage - make abstract art with your name! Draw the letters of your name out in a fun way, then cut up the paper into equal pieces. Rearrange the letters and add the finishing touches.

☀️Felt Pennant Flag - try your hand at some simple sewing techniques with this mixed media fabric collage. Pick your colors and design, and stitch away!

☀️3D Bird's Eye View Painting - learn about the power of perspective with this fun overhead beach scene. Create shadows with paint and added 3D elements.

☀️Morisot Inspired Seaside Collage - using recycled papers, magazines, and other materials, make a seaside themed collage. Inspired by the works of French artist Berthe Morisot.

Join us at beachKraft Gallery for our ongoing Friday Night Figure series, where we bring in a different model each week, alternating between traditional undraped and lightly clothed or costumed models.

This week, we're bringing back fashionista Mimi (mya_the_fashion_model ) who will be taking us through a series of gesture warmups, short poses, and a long pose.

Don't miss this fun opportunity to practice your live drawing skills, experiment with a new medium or style, and meet other local artists.

⛱️Summer Art Camp is almost here!☀️

We're bringing you 8 weeks of fun-filled art projects with a different theme every week.

Sessions will include a variety of media and instructions with easy step by step drawing, painting, paper craft, collage, fiber art and more!

All supplies will be included. Bring a smock/apron or wear clothes appropriate for possibly messy art production. Snacks and water bottles from home are welcome. We can provide bottled water and limited soft drinks.

Suitable for kids ages 5-12

Sessions run Tuesdays - Fridays from 1pm-4pm

Sandy will also be teaching a Watercolor course with us later in the month. Students will learn the fundamentals of wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry and other watercolor techniques in an age-appropriate setting.

Each week we bring in a different model, alternating weeks of traditional undraped/nude and lightly clothed / costumed. Test your skills with drawing from life, or use this as an opportunity to explore a new technique or art medium.

What a fantastic evening at beachKraft Gallery! We were proud to celebrate and host the opening reception of the 2026 Olney Art Association (.art.association ) Group Exhibit.

It was a wonderful opportunity to meet the artists, look at some amazing pieces, and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow creatives!

The show will be up for the remainder of June, so stop on by the gallery, and maybe take one of these works home with you!

Come down to the BeachKraft Gallery in Olney, where you'll learn a structured way to approach the complex art of figure drawing.

At the Figure and Life Drawing Workshop, you will grasp how to see gesture, space, and anatomy in a three day workshop designed to equip you with the knowledge to grow as an artist!

---Class Description---

The three session workshop will be broken into three parts focused around different aspects of basic figure drawing. No prior experience with figure drawing is needed!

🔹First, we will explore the concept of gesture, and how it plays a key role in determining the vitality of a drawing. Students will learn how to draw with a loose mindset, and how to carry the gesture into a finished figure.

🔹Second, we will look at methods for utilizing space, both positive and negative, to reinforce the accuracy and three dimensionality of a drawing. By the end of this session, students will understand how to use shapes as guide rails for a successful rendering.

🔹Lastly, we will study some basic anatomy, and learn the vital landmarks of the human body that will aid artists to see and draw figures. This will serve as a good launchpad into the vast world of artistic anatomy, and how to use it for creative growth.

The show is up 🎉

Join us this Saturday at beachKraft Gallery for the Opening Reception of the Olney Art Association 2026 Group Show.

Featuring the work of 20 local artists, the variety in mediums, techniques, and subject matter will leave you in awe.

The Reception is FREE & open to the public. There will be light refreshments, a live DJ, and a chance to meet and greet many of the participating artists.
