Last night (7-16-2026) the weather cooperated and the Olathe Historical Society held their meeting at Ensor Park & Museum. At the meeting Marty Peters gave a brief history of the museum property and Rick Nichols completed a Chautauqua style oratory wearing several different hats! The group was invited to tour the grounds and museum before and after the meeting. A good time was had by all!

Mark your calendars for June 27-28! The Santa Fe Trail Amateur Radio Club (SFTARC) will once again be running their ARRL Field Day operations at the Ensor Park & Museum site this year. The public is invited to visit the park during this event to learn more about amateur radio and see the radio operators make contacts in North America and foreign countries.

The operators will begin making contacts at 1pm, Saturday, June 27, and will operate until 1 pm, June 28.

The object of Field Day is to work as many stations as possible on the 160, 80, 40, 20, 15 and 10 Meter HF bands, as well as all bands 50 MHz and above, and in doing so to learn to operate in abnormal situations in less than optimal conditions. A premium is placed on developing skills to meet the challenges of emergency preparedness as well as to acquaint the general public with the capabilities of Amateur Radio.

Thanks to all those who attended Ensorfest '26 this year! We had a good crowd and great weather!

If you missed it -- the museum is still open for the spring season from 1 to 5 on Saturdays and Sundays through the end of June. Come out and see us!

The volunteer team has been in action getting the Ensor Park & Museum ready for the opening day of the spring tour season. Tours start today at 1 pm!!!
