Tate Tullier’s Photo Talk was an enjoyable and inspiring event. Tate shared how he first discovered his passion for photography and the journey that led him to build his photography business. His stories offered a genuine look into the creative process, the challenges of starting out, and the moments that shaped his artistic path.

The audience appreciated his openness, humor, and the way he connected personal experience with professional growth.

Special thanks to MDHAC Board Member Cady Macfee for bringing Tate Tullier to the museum and making this inspiring Photo Talk possible. Her initiative and support helped create a memorable evening for our community.

📷“Photo Talk with Tate Tullier,” an adults‑only event at the Museum of Deaf History, Arts & Culture in Olathe, Kansas. Tate Tullier, an acclaimed Deaf photographer, will share stories from his creative journey and discuss how photography captures Deaf culture, identity, community, and everyday life.

The event takes place Friday, October 16, 2026, with doors opening at 6:30 pm and the presentation starting at 7 pm. Tickets cost $25 online or $35 at the door, and refreshments—including w**e, iced tea, lemonade, and appetizers—will be served. Proceeds support the museum’s exhibitions, education, and community programs.

Hello, my name is Cady. I’m a board member for the Deaf Museum. Next week, Tate Tullier, well known deaf photographer, will be here in Kansas City. He will be here from Thursday to Sunday. If you want to have a family picture done or a session with your loved one, Senior pictures, or your picture session with your pet. Tate would be happy to do it. He’s good, an artist, very creative, I highly recommend him. Cost starts at $350, and 10% of the proceeds will be donated to the museum. He will let you know how much your session will cost, depending on different factors such as how many people, and the type of session you will be doing. My name is Cady Macfee. I’m a board member of the Museum of Deaf, History, Art and Culture. I’m excited to announce that Tate Tullier from Texas will be coming to the museum on October 16 to give a presentation. The door opens at 6:30 and the presentation starts at seven. Tate will share about how he has succeeded as a photographer, his journey, his creativity and so much more. Tickets cost $25 online and go up to 35 at the door. We will be providing w**e, lemonade, tea, and appetizers. If you need accommodations, we will provide a voice interpreter, and we will be happy to provide CDI or DI if you need one. Join Deaf Educator Micki Keck for an ASL-led tour of American Prospects and Landscape Photography, 1839 to Today. This interactive tour explores our ever-changing relationship with the natural world. Color photographs from Joel Sternfeld’s influential series American Prospects, a classic record of 1980s America, serve as the focal point for this exhibition, which considers the rich and varied history of landscape photography from the medium’s invention to the present.

Meet at 10:30 am at Thou Mayest Coffee inside the museum for coffee and informal conversation. At 11 am, the group will head together to the exhibition to begin the guided tour. Please note: This tour is conducted fully in ASL and does not include voice interpretation. We kindly ask that reservations be made by d/Deaf and hard-of-hearing visitors. Limited to 15 attendees.
