Hamburger Day? Yes, of course we have a painting for that! Our mouths are already watering for lunch. Jane Bowen (Georgia) painted this serving tray of hamburger and fries that's in the Collection and on display at the Porcelain Art Museum. Delicious!

Doris Blankenship comes every week to our Tuesday class at the Porcelain Art Museum. We asked her how long she’s been painting. She thought and thought and giggled as she said, “A long time!!!”. It’s been close to 70 years. A lady at her church invited her to go to a porcelain painting class and she hasn’t stopped since. She took classes with a teacher named Margaret Martin in Shawnee, OK. She was in her 20’s and she remembers her children were very little and she’s now in her 90’s.

She recalled one of the first things she painted was a Santa Claus. Through the years she just painted it all, but probably mostly florals. Doris said if it weren’t for painting, she wouldn’t have met so many different interesting people through her life. Doris is a joy and we just love seeing her smile every week!

Yay, more Museum beautification!...
Nancy Lepak and her grandson, Ryan, spent the morning planting periwinkle and extra bushes to fill in our front landscaping. Nancy, Fillis Jackson, Sharan Amend and Bernetta Stewart all donated toward the purchase of plants and mulch. We sure appreciate your blood, sweat and $$$ to the WOCP and our precious museum. Thank you friends for making our garden bed so pretty!

The Museum got a mini porcelain upgrade.
This vintage M. Felipe Pereira hand painted sink has been in storage since our move to our current location almost 10 years ago. It was dismantled from our previous building and is finally back in use. It’s little touches like this that make us so happy even when just washing our hands.

Thank you to Nancy Lepak, WOCP Member, who sponsored the sink installation! We love it!
