Heatwave. We did our best to soldier through it. The Goddess Workshop with Maryann Cord was scheduled for Saturday, but setting up in the 103°degree weather, we realized that it wasn’t going to work. Normally, it’s 20° cooler under the Chinese Elm behind Beatrice Wood’s studio, but there was only a hot breeze blowing through.
We hated the idea of canceling the workshop, as our work is a labor of love and we didn’t want to disappoint participants. We’d already purchased everything to make a wonderful vegetarian lunch. But there wasn’t a choice, as it just wasn’t a healthy thing to do.
As Maryann is teaching a Zoomorphic on the 24th, we decided to reschedule for that date. Participants will learn everything they need to create a Goddess figure and how to create a Zoomorphic Rattle. We’ll probably see some Goddess rattles.
