Faces of Little Bighorn Collection

Faces of Little Bighorn Collection Paintings, and extensive research of the Lakota Sioux Nation and their role in this pivotal American It is housed in the Wassenberg Art Center year round.

Paintings, and extensive research of the Lakota Sioux Nation and their role in this pivotal American battle retold directly from their own experiences through the art and books of the late David Humphreys Miller. Miller, a native of Van Wert set out for the Pine Ridge Reservation at the age of 16, armed with a car and $100. He then began interviewing the 72 surviving warriors of the Battle of Litt

le Bighorn and massacre at Wounded Knee which resulted in alternative theories of the events including who may actually killed General George Armstrong Custer. This is their story and the only collection of this artist’s work displayed in the United States.

A very cool photograph!

As evening sets in this we hope you all had a fabulous day. We thought you may like to see the Sculpture in progress looks magnificent under the moon light too! From a distance, or from the air, the red flashing lights make it possible to locate the Mountain Carving and tower crane. The Mountain combined with the starry Black Hills sky on a clear night really is an awe-inspiring sight!

Perspective! Now maybe you can grasp the size of this project !

We thought this was such a breathtaking vantage point that we couldn't keep it from our friends! From here we can see exactly why the tower crane is such an asset with its far-reaching capabilities. Don't forget to take note of the other amazing, seemingly small equipment, the Carvers, and the progress!
