We are SO excited to announce that Six Little Ducks Toy Store & Play Place will be opening in September 2026 in Downtown Oconomowoc!

Formerly The Children’s Play Gallery, Six Little Ducks will continue the legacy of creating a warm, welcoming, and inviting space where families can come together to play, explore, imagine, and now shop!

We can’t wait to share more details about our official opening, our new space, and all the fun we have planned. Stay tuned for sneak peeks coming soon!

OCONOMOWOC, Wis. — The Children’s Play Gallery, located at 126 E. Wisconsin Avenue in downtown Oconomowoc, has been purchased by two local families and will soon begin a new chapter as Six Little Ducks Toy Store & Play Place.

The new name was inspired by the six children shared between the two families and reflects their vision of creating a playful, welcoming and educational destination for children and families in the heart of downtown Oconomowoc.

“The Children’s Play Gallery has been a staple in downtown Oconomowoc since 2013 and has become a special destination for generations of local families with young children,” the new owners said. “We recognize how meaningful this space has been to the community, and our goal is to preserve everything families have loved about it while thoughtfully investing in its future. We want Six Little Ducks to remain a place where families can gather, children can explore and parents/grandparents can create lasting memories together.”

The owners plan to build upon the Play Gallery’s established role in the community by introducing new play features, refreshed spaces and developmentally appropriate activities that encourage learning through play. Planned updates include sensory-focused experiences and additional elements inspired by modern early childhood education.

The toy store will offer a modern, thoughtfully curated selection of educational toys, creative-play products, books, gifts and specialty items that families can feel good about purchasing. Rather than emphasizing products commonly available through large online retailers, Six Little Ducks will focus on distinctive, high-quality toys that support learning, imagination, creativity and meaningful family play.

Six Little Ducks will continue serving as a downtown destination for open play, family activities, birthday parties and special events, while expanding its connection to specialty retail.

Additional information about reopening dates, hours, parties, programming and upcoming events will be announced through the business website and social media channels.

Today is our last day open as Mantz Imagination dba the Childrens Play Gallery. I have held off making any announcements about membership until the new owners could make announcements for themselves. Part of the sale includes arrangements for the new ownership to honor memberships, valid play passes, and valid gift cards. More announcements will come in July from the new owners. I will reach out via email to the members soon.
Once again thank you to all of you who had kind words and fond memories. This was a wonderful, unexpected adventure filled with memories and so much joy. May the next chapter continue to be a blessing to the new owners and all of our friends and family at the gallery.

This will be our last month of running the Children’s Play Gallery. We will be closing on June 30, 2026 in preparation for the transfer of ownership in late July. The new owners will be taking over this page and our website shortly after our closing. Thank you all for the opportunities to grow the gallery and blessings of being a part of our lives for the past 13 years. We look forward to seeing how the new owners will continue to improve the Gallery. More details to come!

I have been absolutely blessed and honored to work at The Children's Play Gallery for the past 12 years. Meeting so many amazing people and working with a great team to provide a fun & clean environment to play, create and learn. Many thanks to Bob & Denise Mantz for bringing this museum to Oconomowoc and keeping us going with their generosity.

After many prayers I have been led to a new opportunity. I will be starting my next chapter in June. THANK YOU for all of the love and support over the years. I have many memories that I will treasure and I am so grateful.
