Before I figured out what kind of pictures I enjoyed taking for these videis I used fun graphics. Scribbling on my paintings was a serious concern when my grandsons visited when they were toddlers. Today the enjoy watching the process and even enjoy some art themselves.
The Yellow and Pink Dahlia glows in the sun with its bright colors and transparent petals. I loved painting this beauty! The high quality watercolors and great 400 lb watercolor paper from Blick Art Materials makes it so pleasurable!

It is such a short season but admired so abundantly. The Iris, especially the bearded Iris is my favorite flower.
My dad had a large Iris garden by our house and in the yard for years as I grew up. There was a great pleasure walking outside and having their scent woft around me. It was amazing!
Watercolor painting this beauty called The Hemstitch Iris was pure pleasure! A challenge with all the fine lines but all worth it.
The photo was taken at my local YMCA garden. They have such wonderful flower beds. And yes, the Iris scent fills my senses when I walk by!

A very common summer flower with a special memory.
My grandfather Walter (and sons) built a house in the late 50's for the family. He built a flag stone patio with a covering off the master suite and whether it was planned or not, pansy's grew between those stones and I loved them! Every visit in the summer was a treat for my soul as I walked among the stones very carefully not to disturb the blooms.
Although this original is sold it holds a very special place in my heart and I can look at the print.

The Lily of the Valley. I love this tiny flower. Can you almost smell it? Such a sweet distinct fragerance.
My watercolor painting was sketched onto watercolor paper from a picture I took on my neighborhood walk.
I do not use white paint so these beautiful bells are the paper showing through.

This Rainbow Lantana was so much fun to paint! Each little bloom had its own color and shape. The entire group of blooms barely makes 2 inches in full bloom. They are so darn cute!
The actual color of each flower changes as it ages. Wouldn't that be fun! Changing colors as we age! 😃
The butterfly are especially fond of the Lantana and find them irrestible, like me!
The use or rich high quality watercolor paints on high qualtiy watercolor paper (from Dick Blick) to make the prints (from Picture Salon, Madison WI) come out original looking!

These are one of the most creatively nick-named flowers I know. The Hydrangea also known as the "SnowBall" is like a little piece of winter saying, "I'll be back. Until then enjoy my petal version."
The Hydrangea does come in several different colors from white to pink, blue and purple. I think they are so stinking cute!
Painting this black and white beauty was a wonderful challenge but so rewarding. Every petal was so tender and graceful making it very enjoyable. Painted with high quality paints and paper from Dick Blick and scanned and printed from Picture Salon.

Flowing petals of pink and white burst from this large Dinner Plate Dahlia watercolor, painted on high-quality Arches watercolor paper and high quality paint. I loved the challenge this lovely flower gave with it's smooth color transitions on each petal. In reality, this stunning bloom measured over 14 inches in diameter and brought pure joy sitting on my counter.
Dahlia sizes vary dramatically, from petite 2-inch lollipop-style pompoms to giant 15-inch “dinner plates.” Most varieties grow 4 to 5 feet tall.

One of the sweetest little flowers I've found on my walks. This Crabapple Blossom is the size of a dime but holds a depth of detail I didn't know existed until I began painting it from the photo.
Watercolor Crabapple Blossom is 22x30 in painted size and was a very fun painting! I use only very high quality paper and paints from Dick Blick. The white petals always hold a challenge because I do not use white paint. I actually don't even own white watercolor paint. Then to have the pink, fuschias and olives together. Only a master Creator could come up with this combo.

One of my first floral paintings that started this passion I have to paint flowers!
