What a fabulous day!!
Honoring the women in STEAM that served during both world wars with a tour of Pope’s Museum, a visit with costumed historical actresses and then lunch provided by Porky's Barbecue. The team was great. The students were engaged. The message was received.

We are so excited to be able to kick off our project this morning sponsored by the artistshomes.hahs and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
Four counties of students learning about the impact of women in science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics in our nation’s success story at this national historic site and museum in South Georgia. Keep your eye out for more photos.

Did you know there are national standards for historic sites and museums?
Pope’s Museum has been busy working with valdostastate intern Hannah Clark to complete the American Association for state and local history program of national standards of excellence.
We are thrilled that we have completed two of the six sections!
