Today children participated in painting a beautiful mural at Le Port Montessori in Carlsbad. This event was arranged by Hand of Peace, an organization we have worked with for many years. And more to come! We thank them for their help! -------------------------------------------------------

YES, we have moved and YES we are excited about your new home for the Muramid Mural Museum and Art Center! We are still located in Oceanside in the historic area right next door to Mission San Luis Rey and the San Luis Rey Bakery. You will LOVE our new facility complete with a parking lot, private restrooms and a future outdoor theater and stage! We have been busy working on the complete renovation of the property. Our thanks for the incredible love and labor of Saul Figueroa and Aki Burkes for all the volunteer hard work! The building is sound and has great kharma and energy. Our team has loved being in the building working on murals even during the renovation. However, we are now in need of continuing funds to purchase the finishing touches - flooring, plumbing fixtures, drywall, paint, and a new ADA certified double door so we can serve ALL our patrons and participants!" Please help us finish the museum!

We also accept donations of in-kind materials if you should know of donors that are willing to provide any of these materials. Please contact [email protected] All donations large or small, in-kind or with your generous time helping with physical volunteer work...we will surely welcome and appreciate your support!

We would like to thank the hosts and research team of this event for their hard work in making this happen!

Marilyn Huerta, Dr. Eliza Bigham, Jill Bullock, Marija Sutic, Alexis Arellano, Eulalia Da Rosa, and CSUSM Human Resources Department.
This outstanding HD497 Research Team is focusing on gaining a greater understanding of healing arts and how it can be applied in communities. Their team was hardworking and very engaging with the students making this event more than just painting but healing too.

The mural will be delivered to Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida. We want the families to know that students and supporters from across the country express their love and passion.

Students at Cal State-San Marcos will spend time Tuesday and Thursday this week painting as a way to process their emotions in the wake of the school shooting in Parkland, Florida.

“17 Birds each for 17 Victims”.

Join us this week to "Paint for Parkland" and create murals that will be sent to Parkland, Florida and honor Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. CSUSM Human Development students taught by Dr. Eliza Bigham will host this project with support from Art Miles.

Tues. 2/20 & Thurs. 2/22
10am-1pm in the Kellogg Terrace (3rd Floor Library Entrance), CSUSM.

Heartbreak. 💔 Another school shooting... and another Healing Mural. The Muramid Museum has responded to all the mass school shootings in our nations history starting with Sandy Hook in 2012. At first they were just rare events that we would never forget. But now as time goes on and Gun laws remain unchanged these shootings have become a frequent part of the news. Things need to change. 18 shootings in the United States as of February 14th, 2018. Even though this statistic is horrific, yes we will do yet another healing mural to send to the Florida High School.
