Two excellent programs at the Endicott Reardon Family Museum took place this August, Defenders of the Delaware, with Dr. Robert Heinly on August 11; and The Cape May Navy with J.P. Hand on August 25, shedding light on the significant maritime role that Cape May County played during the Revolutionary Era and beyond, with in-depth knowledge of the people and places involved, especially the local pilots, privateers, and patriots involved. Enthusiastic responses from an appreciative audience for both programs were in evidence throughout. Our thanks to our local historians and to all those who joined us to learn more about the contributions of Cape May County to our nation.

Our wonderful programming continues to attract, inform, and entertain our appreciative audiences, and we thank them for attending and supporting our efforts.

Most recently our program, " The American Revolution in New Jersey" by Dr. Robert E. Heinly took us into the heart of the Revolution in New Jersey, the "crossroads of the Revolution," and the consequential battles of Trenton, Princeton, and Monmouth, on June 9, 2026.

Then on June 23rd, we were treated to "Honeybees in Cape May County" presented by local beekeeper Gary Schempp, who explained the inner workings of bees and their bee colonies, their honeycombs, and ultimately, their honey. Mr. Schempp went from killing pests to saving bees when he transitioned from his established career as an exterminator, and began to focus on the conservation of the bees, and a whole new life saving and tending them.

We welcomed the first Special Event of the new season at the Museum on Tuesday, May 19, with our local historian, Michael Conley, who spoke about the Dennisville Inn. Mr. Conley's up close and personal insights about the Inn held the rapt attention of our audience who followed his every word along with the effective Power Point imagery of the Inn. Our thanks to Mr. Conley for a wonderfully informative and inspiring presentation about the history of one of the most storied buildings in Cape May County. Our thanks also to all those who attended his presentation and visited the Museum! We look forward to seeing you at future programs and any time during our 2026 season, Open Mondays and Wednesdays, from 10 - 2, with new exhibits for you to enjoy!
