We are so excited to offer a special treat for the second year in a row. Mark your calendar for this year's May Day Celebration at the Kerr Sunday May 17, 2026 from 1-4 pm. Watch as our Jr. Docents dance around the Maypole and you have the opportunity to enjoy a self-guided house tour! May Day was traditionally celebrated on May 1 and sometimes was a week-long affair featuring flowers, parties, and the crowning of a May Queen. We know you'll love our version of May Day so join us! We will have crafts and games for the children. Make it a special family affair!

We are bringing Halloween Night tours back this October! AND on May 17, 2026 from 1-4 pm you’re invited to dance around the Maypole take self-guided tours, play games and more.

It’s April 30th! This day is Halloween’s birthday twin, setting it six months away from its more well-known fall festival. Walpurgis Night (April 30) and Beltane (May 1) blend Christian and pagan traditions like Halloween does. These festivities (bonfires and Maypole activities to name two) are meant to welcome warmer days, budding blooms, sprouting crops, newly born livestock, and keep evil forces at bay. But what these days mean for the Kerr Museum is the announcement that we are bringing Halloween Night tours back this October! AND on May 17, 2026 from 1-4 pm you’re invited to dance around the Maypole take self-guided tours, play games and more. We can’t wait to see you this spring and when the days get short and dark.
