It's time to head into our busiest month of the year with Fall Pumpkin Trains! After our last regular season train returned yesterday, it was time to assemble the consist for Pumpkin Trains.

As our events continue to grow year after year, our train has had to grow as well. Just a few years ago, our Pumpkin train was one coach, our Open Air car, and a couple of our cabooses with room for about 150 passengers. Our partnerships with our friends at AMC Rail and the Norfolk and Western Business Car 300 Preservation Society Inc., have helped us add nearly 70 additional seats to our trains. Monon Business Car "Lynne", acquired by HVRM through a donation from the Monon Railroad Historical-Technical Society in 2023, adds an additional 24 seats. We can now accommodate up to 245 passengers with a wide variety of seating options.

The Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum is actively seeking individuals who wish to join our operations team! Ever wished to work towards becoming a certified Conductor or Engineer? As we head into our busy Fall Season, there is no better time to join our all volunteer crew to become familiar with our operations before starting training next season! Check out the flyers below for more information or to RSVP for our Annual Rules class for 2027.

The Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum in North Judson, Indiana, is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to preserving the vibrant history of railroading in Northwest Indiana.

Formed in 1988, our museum has worked diligently to build its collection of locomotives, rolling stock, wayside signals, historic photos, buildings, and more. We have made incredible progress with a small group of individuals who have dedicated considerable time and effort to achieve our goals.

To maintain momentum, we are actively seeking new volunteers who can attend our regular Saturday work sessions. We need help in all areas and we are willing to train those who are interested in working with a team.

Sallie's Small Batch Ice Creams will be joining us for all of our Pumpkin Train dates this October! Be sure to stop by and see them near our depot where they will be setup serving some amazing Fall treats! 🍨🎃

Pumpkin Trains begin October 3rd and are selling quickly! Some First-Class seating options are now SOLD OUT! Be sure to get your tickets early, as these trains often sell out.

Take a fun-filled ride through the crisp rural landscape while enjoying a mix of fall colors! Trains leave the depot in North Judson and take passengers on a leisurely 45-minute, 10-mile round-trip journey to English Lake and return. At English Lake, the train crosses the beautiful Kankakee River before returning to town. Upon return, the train drops you off at our pumpkin patch where every passenger gets to choose the perfect pumpkin for carving! Tickets start at just $15!

Our busiest time of the year is quickly approaching and Pumpkin Train tickets are going quickly!

Our First-Class seating options aboard Monon Business Car #2 and Norfolk and Western Business Car #300 are nearly gone! Tickets for both coach and open air car seating are quickly disappearing. Be sure to get your tickets early as these trains commonly sell-out!

Trains operate on Saturday, October 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th will multiple departure times each day.

Monon Business Car "Lynne" has been one of our fan favorites among visitors the last few years. Although it hasn't been on our trains most of the summer, the Lynne will be back soon for ALL of our Pumpkin Trains and Santa Trains!

The Lynne features seating for 12 in the cars lounge area as well as seating for up to 3 adults in 2 of the car's private rooms.

Tickets to ride the Lynne are available at the links below. Be sure to hurry, as these tickets are selling quickly! Seating onboard the Lynne is SOLD OUT for some departure times already.

We are excited to offer the Norfolk and Western Business Car #300 as our First-Class Private Car option for this year's Santa Trains!

Featuring First-Class seating for up to 15 passengers, the 300 is available on ALL of our upcoming Santa Trains this year. Enjoy the ride from the comfort of your own private car for you and your family or group. During the 1hr long ride, everyone gets to visit with the Jolly Old Elf himself! The warm and cozy lounge in the end of the car is a perfect place to gather for family photos with Santa. Complimentary refreshments are included onboard!

Owned by the Norfolk and Western Business Car 300 Preservation Society Inc., the 300 has been painstakingly restored in phases over the last 6 years. The Society has done an excellent job with the 300 and have entertained thousands of guests since the car became operational in 2022. With the 300 in service on our trains, the Society has now turned their attention to their former NW Sleeper Car, the Hollins College. The Hollins College is now under restoration here at the museum. Fundraising is also underway to purchase former Norfolk and Western Powercar #409 for future restoration. Santa Trains return this November with some new and exciting experiences!

Experience the magic of the season with a trip aboard the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum's Santa Train! Trains leave our depot in North Judson, Indiana, and take passengers on a leisurely journey through the rural wintery landscape. Passengers get to visit with Santa as he makes his was through the train. Families have the opportunity to take photos to remember the experience. Plus, every child aboard the train receives a special gift from the jolly old elf himself!

NEW THIS YEAR- Norfolk and Western Business Car #300 will be serving as our First-Class Private Car option this season. The 1917 built Business Car offers First-Class seating for up to 15 passengers. Light refreshments are included onboard. We are excited to offer this opportunity in partnership with our friends at the Norfolk and Western Business Car 300 Preservation Society Inc.

Our very own Monon Business Car, "Lynne", will be offering additional First-Class seating options with 12 Lounge Seats as well as 2 Private Room options that include seating for up to 3 adults. Light refreshments are included onboard for all First-Class passengers.

2 different classes of coach tickets are available this year. Standard Coach has seating for up to 50 passengers with seating a little further spread out with plenty of leg room. Our Economy Coach option has seating for up to 90 passengers with seats spaced a little closer together. Perfect for large groups and families!

5 trains depart each day on November 21st and 28th as well as December 5th, 12th, and 19th. Complimentary cookies and Hot Chocolate are available at our boarding site for ALL passengers. Tickets start at just $20! Be sure to get your tickets early, as the majority of these trains sold out last season!
