Six U.S Presidents have visited Vermont, but which U.S President has visited North Hero?
- Thomas Jefferson toured the Revolutionary War battlefields in Bennington in late May 1791.
- James Madison came to visit Vermont in 1817 as part of his great northern tour.
- Rutherford B. Hayes visited family roots in Brattleboro shortly after his inauguration in 1877.
- Theodore Roosevelt attended a game dinner at the Fisk Farm on Isle La Motte on September 6, 1901, when he received news that President William McKinley had been shot.
- Calvin Coolidge was sworn in as President at his family homestead in Plymouth Notch in 1923, and returned in September 1928 to deliver a famous speech about the recovery efforts from the massive 1927 flood.
