🚂🇺🇸 BIG BOY IS COMING TO NORTH EAST! 🇺🇸🚂
As part of America's 250th Anniversary celebration, North East is excited to welcome the legendary Union Pacific Big Boy No. 4014 on Tuesday, June 9, 2026!
📍 Near Lake Shore Railway Museum (143 S. Lake Street)
🕦 Expected Arrival: 11:30 AM
🕛 Expected Departure: 11:40 AM
For train enthusiasts, Big Boy has been described as the "Elvis Presley" of steam locomotives, and communities across the country have seen thousands of visitors gather to witness this historic locomotive. We are preparing for a significant number of visitors and increased traffic throughout the morning.
🚨 IMPORTANT PUBLIC SAFETY INFORMATION 🚨
✅ Visitors will be able to view and photograph the locomotive.
❌ The public will NOT be permitted to board the train.
🚗 PARKING & TRAFFIC INFORMATION
• Parking will be limited along Wall Street.
• NO parking will be permitted on Grahamville Street (SR 426).
• NO parking will be permitted on the south side of Clinton Street.
• South Pearl Street will be closed between Clinton Street and Eagle Street.
• There will be NO public parking at Fuller Hose Company #1. The parking lot will be reserved for municipal services and public safety personnel.
• All normal parking regulations will apply as posted throughout the Borough.
• Parking regulations will be strictly enforced to maintain open streets and ensure emergency vehicles can respond without delay.
🏡 Residents living near the event area may wish to block off private driveways and property to prevent unauthorized parking.
🚶 If you live nearby and are physically able, please consider walking to the event. Reducing vehicle traffic will help make the day safer and more enjoyable for everyone.
🔒 Visitors are reminded to secure their homes and lock their vehicles before traveling to North East.

Wear your red, white, and blue and help celebrate 250 years of America! A limited number of small American flags will be available for spectators to wave as Big Boy arrives and departs.
The North East Borough, North East Township, North East Police Department, North East Fire Department, and North East Emergency Management continue to work together to ensure a safe and successful event for residents and visitors alike.
