One of the best things about living in Hampton Roads is having the Chrysler Museum of Art right here in Norfolk.

The Chrysler has always been special to me. I interned there twice during college, long before I opened my own gallery, and it’s a place I still love visiting.

One thing I’ve learned over the years is that the best way to develop your own taste in art is simply to look at a lot of it. Different artists, styles, periods, and mediums. Notice what catches your eye, what makes you stop, and what you keep thinking about afterward.

That’s how you begin to understand what you love. And I think that’s also how a great personal art collection begins — not by following rules or trends, but by trusting your own eye.

We’re incredibly lucky to have a museum like the Chrysler in our community, with an extraordinary collection that’s free for everyone to enjoy.

A little inspiration from my latest visit! ❤️

With monochromatic work, you focus on contrast, not color, and the result is a strong, bold work of art.
I love adding color to walls, but I also love the moodiness and dramatic look of a black-and-white piece.

Why a gallery in a home?

When I opened my gallery, I wanted people to experience art in a gallery space but also the way they actually live with it — in real rooms, alongside furniture, books, family, dogs, cats, and everyday life.

Seeing art in a home changes the way you experience it. You can imagine how a large abstract might transform a living room, how an unexpected piece can bring life to a hallway, or how mixing different styles and mediums can make a space feel more personal and collected.

I also think it makes choosing art less intimidating. You don’t need to know anything about art to know what you love.

My favorite part is watching people become more confident in their choices — trying something unexpected, discovering a new artist, or realizing how much one great piece can change an entire room.

That’s why I love having a gallery in my home.

Come see for yourself! I’m always open by appointment — whether you want to browse on your own or bring a few friends. Send me a DM and come by. ✨🖼️
