Thank you to everyone who joined us today for CAM Meets: Picturing America 🇺🇸🎨

On one of those rare beautiful sunny Western New York afternoons that briefly convinces us we survived winter for a reason, guests gathered at CAM to explore how images shape national identity through film, conversation, and art.

We’re grateful to everyone who attended the screening of Norman Rockwell: Painting America and participated in the curator-led tour of USA250: Celebrating the American Vision.

Special thanks to our curators and CAM team for the time, thoughtfulness, and care that made today’s program possible. These conversations—and the opportunity to experience art together—are what make the museum such a meaningful community space.

We look forward to welcoming you back to CAM again soon.

This Memorial Day 🇺🇸, we pause to honor and remember the men and women who have served our nation.

As we reflect on the stories, sacrifices, and ideals that have shaped the American experience, we invite you to explore USA250: Celebrating the American Vision, now on view at the Castellani Art Museum. Drawn from CAM’s permanent collection, the exhibition brings together artworks that examine the many ways artists have interpreted America—its landscapes, people, aspirations, and complexities.

Art offers a unique lens through which to consider our shared history. This Memorial Day, spend time with works that encourage reflection on the evolving story of our nation and the individuals who have helped shape it.

We’re honored to share that our Summer Yoga @ CAM with Full Circle Mind & Body Lewiston (Full Circle Mind & Body) series, was recently featured in the article “Millennial Mom: Around-the-town activities for moms” by Christine Giarrizzo for Niagara Frontier Publications. 🧘‍♀️✨

Hosted inside the galleries of the Castellani Art Museum, Yoga @ CAM invites guests to slow down, reset, and reconnect through movement surrounded by art.

Newly installed in CAM’s Sculpture Court: Border, Peach (1991) by celebrated glass artist Ginny Ruffner 🍑✨

A visionary in contemporary glass and mixed media, Ruffner transformed the medium into something playful, surreal, and deeply imaginative. Known for her richly colored sculptures and inventive visual language, she helped redefine what glass art could be—balancing beauty, wit, science, storytelling, and resilience all at once.

Created the same year as the life-altering accident that nearly ended her career, Border, Peach now feels even more powerful: a work suspended between fragility and strength, delicacy and invention. Ruffner would go on to become an internationally recognized advocate for creativity’s ability to heal, adapt, and endure.

Stop by the Sculpture Court to experience this remarkable work in person.

From the CAM Collection Archive 🌷

This Mother’s Day, we’re celebrating the care, beauty, and quiet gestures that shape our lives—like fresh flowers arranged in morning light or a moment shared around the kitchen table.

Polly King’s Vintage Floral captures that sense of warmth and tenderness through loose watercolor blooms and soft domestic stillness, reminding us how art can preserve the feeling of everyday love.

Wishing a Happy Mother’s Day to all who nurture, support, create, and care for others in ways both big and small.
