The event held by the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad NY Byway Organization is
scheduled for 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, at the Fingerlakes Mall's Community Room, 1579 Clark St. Road, Aurelius. Presentations on the byway will begin at 5 and 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
According to a news release, the organization selected the mall in Aurelius for the location because the town is the only municipality in Cayuga County that has not passed a resolution of support, which is a required step for establishing a statewide byway.
The community conversation will be held two days before the next Aurelius town board meeting, which will be held on Thursday, Aug. 13th.
