The $250,000 grant would help fund the construction of an interpretive center near the Livingston Avenue museum, a former Underground Railroad stop along the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad NY Byway and home of leading Black abolitionists Stephen and Harriet Myers.

A federal grant was reinstated to the Underground Railroad Education Center after the museum sued, arguing it was discriminated against in DOGE-led cuts.
