Countryside Gallery & Custom Frame Design is the longest running private custom frame shop and gallery in the town of Newtown, Pennsylvania. This State Street location has been home to handmade custom designs since 1980. The quaint 1800's location offers a prime destination for art exhibitions as well as lovers of local and national renown artists. We look forward to adding a new burst of energy a

Bucks County native Sasha Strikes always dreamed of making a splash in the art world and those dreams materialized when he started as tattoo artist at the young age of 20. The owner of Seven Strikes Studios is living the American dream. Sasha came to the States from Ukraine at the age of nine. His journey didn't stop there. A lover of the arts, theater, dance, and performance, these helped shape this entrepreneur into the renaissance man he is today. Shortly after opening a tattoo studio in the heart of Bucks County, Sasha also created a workplace and a studio for his blossoming fine arts career. Drawn early to urban art, graffiti, and graphic design, Sasha honed the skills he learned on the streets of Philadelphia into painting fine art murals around the county, as well as, the aerosol canvas works he creates for gallery exhibitions today. Sasha's talents don't stop there, he has dabbled in the modeling industry and has scored early success in both magazine and print. This passion driven artist enjoys channeling his energy into endurance cycling, fire breathing, dance and performance art as well.

Sasha's original works will be on display until the end of October at our South State Street gallery.

SPIRIT TOURS ARE BACK - Fall 2026 brings new locations, new investigations, and new stories to tell. We are so excited to share it all with all of you! As we continue forward each year, we are learning how interwoven each town's history is and how important it is to tell each of their stories.

Behind these concepts are so many local artists, small business owners, local historians, researchers, writers, and residents who are apart of bringing these concepts to life. We are so thankful for this journey and hope to see you this fall!

Harold W. Gans spent his younger years in Havertown, Pennsylvania, where he began his art career by drawing tractor-trailers. In 7th grade, his family moved “down the shore” to Ocean City, NJ, where his lifelong affection for the ocean began. His doodling and sketching followed him through middle and high school.

Studying engineering in college, Harold improved his technical drawing ability and kindled a lasting interest in architectural drawing. His artistry hit full stride during his Army stint stationed in Germany. Some of his work appeared in Stars & Stripes, and many of the pieces on this website were inspired by or drawn during his time in Europe.

While raising his family, Harold expanded his artistic repertoire from pencil into pen and ink, oil paints, and watercolor. After a 50+ year civil engineering career, during which Harold drew many of the heavy vehicle drawings found on this site, he is now enjoying his retirement. Harold has found that travel inspires his artwork, and he devotes some time every day to one of his works-in-progress, whether it be a commissioned piece or a personal work.
