On this misty morning two more of Sussex County's Revolutionary War Veterans received new headstones: Henry Stoll and Benajah Gustin at the Frankford Plains Cemetery. Thank you to direct descendant, Kathy Rivers, for donating money for Henry Stoll's stone. Thank you to Bobby Drew, caretaker at Franklin Plains Cemetery, for donating money to purchase Benajah Gustin's stone. You can see by the pictures, that the original stones for both men were brownstones that were breaking down and no longer legible. Bobby Drew also installed both stones with assistance from John Price and arrangements by Wendy Wyman. It was a good morning!

New Jersey was once abuzz with iron and steel forges. Here is another early forge: The Long Pond Ironworks was founded in 1766 by the German ironmaster Peter Hasenclever and operated continually until 1882, making iron for a wide range of purposes. Today, the ruins of three furnaces and other structures, including waterwheels, homes, and outbuildings remain within Long Pond Ironworks State Park near the New York border in West Milford.
