The tablets are here!!!
As part of the "Thinking of Money" grant the library received, we now have Launchpad learning tablets. These touch-screens have preloaded games to teach children & teens about finance. The ages for the games are 5 & up!

The pads are available for parents to check out or use here. All pads come with a protective case and carrying case.

Our first game day for Thinking of Money will be November 26th at 1 p.m! The age range for "Currency Conga" is 3 years to teen. Please call or DM at 299-3361, ext 4 to reserve your child's space.

The Mayor came over to the library to change a battery in the smoke detector. (Both my sons know the drill: I'm going to ask for one more thing). So, as long as he had the big ladder with him...yada, yada, yada...new bright LEDs in the hallway.

Below is information about Space Camp 2025 scholarships:

We are so excited to announce that Space Camp scholarship applications for Summer 2025 are NOW OPEN! Do you know of a student who would benefit from the out-of-this-world opportunity to attend Space Camp but may need the means to get there on their own? Scholarships cover the cost of tuition and are awarded to students who express an interest in STEM and are in financial need!

The application consists of answering three essay questions, designing and describing a mission patch, and describing a science experiment using the scientific method or engineering process. Students must also upload forms verifying school enrollment, GPA, and eligibility for the school’s free or reduced breakfast/lunch program.

The applications will be open until Monday, November 25, at 11:59 p.m. CST. This is a strict deadline, so please encourage your students to apply as soon as possible at the link below!

Since Newton Elementary and South Dale are out tomorrow, come by this afternoon and pick up an AR books from the library!!
All the books in our Children's Room have reading levels and points listed and... library cards are free!

At 1 o'clock this afternoon, Pam with Spectrcare will be at the library to discuss prescription drug safety with the public. This is an important issue with tips on how to keep medications safe from accidental ingestion to safe medication disposal.

I found someone's pets at the bank this morning. The big one has a fence collar on. The little one is very upset and crying, but both are very friendly. Both are well fed and didn't want water. I'm going to call the pound because of today's heat.

The August book sale starts now!!
Children's books, middle reader, YA, adult fiction, and nonfiction!!!!!
All hardbacks are a $2; paperbacks, CDs, and DVDs are a $1. Look for the red dots because they're only .50 cents. We also have some fixtures and pictures.
At this time, we can only accept cash or checks.
Thank you for everyone who brought in donations during the past year to make this possible. We were able to replace many older books with newer titles. We have hundreds of titles on the tables ready to go home with you!
Come cool off and shop for a good cause! Proceeds are going towards repairs the subflooring in the kitchen area. All monetary donations are accepted too.

School is about to start and this is a great time to look around for those books you or your child borrowed.
Our books are sad and need to come back.
