DESIGN PROCESS
We begin design by listening to our clients, because they are the expert on how their space should function. Once we have an in-depth understanding of the project vision, we put our knowledge & skills to work! The project evolves from floor plan to a three dimensional form, through the use of building information modeling software. Our competence with advanced computer software enables the fusion of ideas with form and the real with the virtual, allowing the creation of hybrid environments. When the design is finalized we use the model to generate photo realistic perspectives, walk through animations and accurate construction drawings. The building information model also gives us the ability to generate material quantities for construction and advanced coordination of systems within the building. BAY DESIGN VALUES

Form follows function is the standard rule most architects today abide by. The form of a building defines its shape, floor plan, scale to people, and relationship to its surrounding context. Color is a powerful tool of design, because it has the ability to arouse an emotional response. Did you know the human eye can distinguish between over seven million colors? All of these colors influence our mood and behavior, in addition to causing physical reactions in people. Therefore choice of color on the exterior and interior of buildings should be developed with awareness and aim to support the project vision. Yellows, oranges and reds express warmth and liveliness. Blues and greens are undeniably associated with tranquil, relaxing environments. Chromotherapy, the application of color to promote healing of the body and mind, has been used for thousands of years. Current medical studies show that when hospital walls are painted colors from nature, patients have less pain and shorter visits. Bay Design architects understand the impact of color and help their clients select a color palette that is best suited for their project. Sustainability implemented into a buildings design and construction is imperative in the practice of architecture and the engineering of facility systems.
