We had a great turnout for our Memorial Day ceremony today. Thanks to Mayor Jones, Chief Drew and Chief Rogers your presence is always welcome at our events. Thank you to Retired Fleet Master Chief Tom Howard for serving as our guest speaker. Today’s event was a huge success.

We’re getting ready for tomorrow’s cookout. Veggie tray, pasta salad, fruit trays, and burger/hot dog toppings. The ceremony starts at 11:00 at Post 25 with the cookout following at (approx.) noon. Both the ceremony and cookout are open to the public. We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow.

Of course we’ve got cake and ice cream to top it all off!

Thanks to all the volunteers from Newport News Shipyard, JROTC, and Post 25 that dedicated their morning to hanging flags on the graves of our fallen servicemen and women at Peninsula Memorial Cemetary. There were also several active duty service members that participated in this morning’s community service event. Well done.
