Michael Klein Arts

Michael Klein Arts Private art dealer/Consultant/ Independent Curator
Curator, author, artists’ advocate and confidant to collectors, active since 1977
(3)

A consultant who savors the still untamed spirit of Modern and Contemporary Art, yet informed with a thoughtful understanding of their cultural history and influence on the art market, Michael’s connoisseurship is respected among private collectors and curators of leading museums. In today’s mercurial art world of galleries that open and close by the dozens and art fairs boisterous with “buzz,” Mi

chael’s guidance is equally a source of adventure and reassurance for clients building collections of emerging, mid career and established artists.

Heading to 72 on Tuesday...have no idea how to be or think much chaning in my life the clock ticking louder my desire to continue to work, write curate and hopefully some teaching again soon.
To be honset the only person i now want to promote is me; my father died at 79 so perhaps i have only 7 more years on the earth. Or could lucky and live into my 80s as had my mother.
The universe will provide and I will answer.

It's 1973 and I'm in my junior year at NYU. I'm 22.
One day I'm having lunch with a school mate who tells me she has just enrolled in the Whitney Museum's ISP program. I'm both intrigued with the notion of independent study and jealous.

After lunch I decided why not me and head uptown on the Madison Avenue bus.
At the Whitney I introduced myself to David Hupert head of the program and by the afternoon was accepted to the program. And in order to afford this new schedule of education i got a part time job across the street at Sothebys

Here began a new aspect of my education, having been focused on art history studying with Robert Rosenblum and Leo Steinberg now I would be exposed to contemporary art. So 50 years later here im am still engaged with artists and the contemporary art world,
