Walls-Ortiz Gallery and Center An art gallery and community space for dialogue and engagement with the city, the church, and faith

Welcome to the Walls-Ortiz Gallery and Center, a place to dialogue about the city, the church and faith in local and global contexts. This is a community space for conversation, for telling stories, for visualizing and engaging faith, for new questions and unexpected appreciations, and for matters of the mind and heart. Our exhibits, derived from our research and learning, invite awareness and eng

agement with changes in the city and our “local” world Christian community. We support and affirm the arts as essential for the continual renewal of theological learning, the church, and the flourishing of the city. The gallery and center are named after Andrew Walls and Manuel Ortiz, leading scholars of Christian mission, World Christianity, and the practice of ministry. Both exemplify a commitment to students and scholarship that we seek in our community, and they have been instrumental to our formation as a seminary.

We wrapped up the mosaic workshop series with our Fisher Center artists last week (pictured). Many thanks to artist-educator Jon Bunge and Fisher Center staff for bringing the group over twice a month since April. We look forward to final touches on the artwork so that we can install an outdoor exhibition in the garden and plan for a fall celebration. Stay tuned for more information!
