We are saddened to announce that Edgar Lansbury, President Emeritus of the Boards of Trustees (of both the Nicholas Roerich Museum and the Agni Yoga Society), passed away on May 2nd, 2024. Edgar joined the NRM and the AYS in 1963 and served both organizations in different capacities. His contributions were immense, ranging from writing articles and study papers on Roerich’s art and Agni Yoga subjects, personally carrying out renovation work in the Museum’s building to financial support. He was President of the Boards from 1983 to 2017 and afterwards became President Emeritus. Godspeed, Edgar, on your eternal Path and never-ending journey towards the Light.

Join us for a wide-ranging program of works for violin and piano that traces a sonic path from gentle minimalism to lush virtuosity. The first three pieces (Furrer, Kurtág, Takemitsu) gradually open up this duo’s sonic capabilities, while the next four explore more complex textures with each instrument alone. George Enescu’s vividly realized “Impressions d’enfance” closes the program with a richly imagined panoply of childhood memories.

"Where there is peace, there is culture; where there is culture, there is peace.” – Nicholas Roerich.

This powerful message is embodied by the Roerich Pact, an international treaty signed in 1935 that established a neutral zone of protection for cultural sites during times of war and peace. The Banner of Peace, with its distinctive symbol, serves as a powerful reminder of this commitment.

We salute Dr. Alicia Rodríguez, a beacon of peace. For 37 years, as President of the Committee International Flag of Peace Civil Organization of the United Nations, she has tirelessly carried the Banner of Peace across the globe. Her impactful work includes hundreds of conferences promoting Nicholas Roerich's message of peace and the significance of the Banner.

Thank you, Dr. Rodríguez, for your unwavering dedication to a world filled with peace and harmony.
