Ridgewood Museum of Contemporary Art

Founded in 2012, Ridgewood Museum of Contemporary Art is New York's newest art museum. Inspired by the Lower East Side Troll Museum, RMCA (those in the know pronounce it rim-ka) turns personal living space into a showplace for treasured objects. Despite a very limited budget, RMCA (see, you pronounced it that way) displays world class fine art in its also limited space. In doing so, RMCA seeks to negate the demoralizing effects of the sh*t hand dealt to sub-six figure wage earners by the NYC real estate market.

Last weekend's robbery of the museum (fannypack full of loose change under the desk emptied, the torn $20 on top of the desk that was to be taped once Procurement acquired tape) by one of the roommate's friends has the Curator seriously considering relocating. If any of you know anyone with non-thieving friends that might want to house a middle-aged man and a museum, speak. The Curator is strongly considering a residence of his own even though it would stretch the museum's budget.

Fowler Museum. Free Admission. Easy Parking. | Fowler Museum at UCLA

Congratulations to Matjames Metson on his inclusion in a future show @ Fowler Museum at UCLA. RCMA will not start any East Coast-West Coast museum beef though, and say that it is an institution on a par with RCMA. Do note that RCMA also has free admission and relatively easy parking.

The curator has chosen to leave the warped Corrosion of Conformity album, which was on the radiator when the museum took possession of the space in August, on the radiator to warp some more.

If anyone knows anything about how to use those hook thingies in the wall, I could hang some of this art instead of leaning it.

MATJAMES:TRANSLATOR (short)

RMCA's internet connection is so slow (and completely absent when a roommate is watching Family Guy on Netfilx On Demand) that watching videos is out of the question. Where you are, you can probably enjoy this profile of Matjames.
