It’s the final week to catch our group show “The Subaltern Can Paint”, on view until this Saturday, January 25. Our next featured artist is Kuldeep Singh.

Kuldeep Singh (b. 1984, India) is a visual artist whose practice is anchored in oil painting, along with a decade-long rigorous training in the Indian classical dance of Odissi. The rich narrative story telling of Odissi is the backbone of Singh’s visual and kinetic operation. His interlaced practice brings together issues pertaining to queerness through a sacred lens, and entwines ecology through an ecofeminist perspective.

Singh completed his BFA in Applied Arts from Delhi University in 2007, simultaneously studying Indian Classical Dance under Madhavi Mudgal until 2012. He then he received his MFA in Painting and Intermedia from the University of Iowa with full scholarship in 2015. Singh lives and works in New York.

Today we’re highlighting the work of “The Subaltern Can Paint” artist Mustafa Mohsin.

The exhibition has 20 of Mohsin’s “Collected Conversations” works on view, in which he invites friends, fellow artists, and strangers into his studio to pose for a live portrait. Mohsin captures the essence of each individual in a transient, yet deeply personal characterization.

Mustafa Mohsin’s (b. 1994, Pakistan) work bridges observational painting with deeply personal and reflective narratives, exploring the interplay between memory, perception, and the human experience. He draws on his mastery of light and color to document the nuances of everyday life, transforming mundane, fleeting moments into poignant reflections on connection and presence.

Mohsin earned his MFA from the New York Academy of Art in 2024, with his focus on Painting. The artist lives and works in New York.

Stop by Tuesday-Saturday, 10am to 6pm until January 25th to see the exhibition!

Avishek Sen’s solo exhibition, “Once again I want to love you” is currently on view.

“My current series explores love, desire, faith, and self-realization. In my work, nature—through animals, birds, human figures, and fruits—becomes a language for expressing complex emotions and connections.

My work serves as a meditation on the interconnectedness of nature, desire, and self-discovery to reflect on the complexity of existence and the deep, often unspoken, bonds between all living beings.”

- Avishek Sen

“Once again I want to love her” will be on view until January 25th, 2025.
35 Great Jones St, New York, NY 10012.
