(2)

The Brooklyn Museum Libraries and Archives contain collections on painting, sculpture, prints, drawings, photography, decorative arts, and costumes and textiles. The fields of anthropology, archaeology, and ethnology are also covered. This noncirculating reference collection offers books, periodicals, exhibition and auction catalogues, pamphlets and artists' files, and multimedia and electronic re

sources in several languages. The research collections are organized into three divisions:

The Museum Library parallels the encyclopedic range of the Museum's object collections, covering antiquity to contemporary art. The Wilbour Library of Egyptology is one of the most comprehensive research libraries for the study of Ancient Egypt in the world. The Wilbour library also has materials on the Ancient Near East and the classical world. The Museum Archives contain institutional records, curatorial correspondence, expedition reports, and other related textual and visual records dating to the founding of this institution in 1823.
