The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York
Mark your calendars for this Friday, April 3, and get ready for a wondrous, inspiring evening at home! 🎶
Join us here on Facebook on Friday at 7 pm for the world premiere screening of #MetLiveArts production of the iconic American opera, "The Mother of Us All," performed at the Museum earlier this year.
Presented in collaboration with The Juilliard School and the New York Philharmonic and led by some of today's most dynamic and pioneering young artists working in opera, this fully staged site-specific performance imaginatively chronicles the story of Susan B. Anthony and the women's suffrage movement.
With music by Virgil Thomson and libretto by Gertrude Stein, the vivid, gripping story mirrors many of today's continued struggles for the civil rights of people disenfranchised on the basis of gender, race, and sexuality.
