🗣️ “When I create, I shut out the rational side of my brain and let the subconscious and intuitive voice speak through my hand and onto the paper.” — Abstract Art by Julie Waas
Julie Reby Waas turns color, pattern, and intuition into a visual language of joy. Although she has created abstract drawings for as long as she can remember, Waas began exploring her practice more deeply during the isolation of the Covid-19 pandemic. What started as a way to relieve stress while working from home became a deeply personal creative outlet. In 2021, she began turning her designs into finished artworks using acrylic pens and art paper.
Her process is deeply intuitive, guided by her heart and intuition. Vines, Venn diagrams, and jigsaw-like forms recur throughout her work, bringing a sense of order to the complexities of everyday life. Bright colors and compelling patterns invite spontaneous reactions and, most importantly, a feeling of happiness.
