Standing proudly at Mriya Gallery is a captivating and evocative art object that encapsulates the indomitable spirit of Ukrainian nation and its people. This unique piece of art is a part of an anti-tank missile system.

This missile was on the frontlines in 2023, where it was used to confront the imposing might of a Russian tank during a time of conflict. Mriya Gallery received it directly from Ukrainian soldiers.

Last Thursday, we were honored to host an inspiring evening “Impact and Art” in collaboration with the Grand Founders foundation.

Grand Founders foundation is a driving force in global impact investments and this event was a part of their exclusive Impact Event series, where they connect, educate, and inspire their private community members while introducing newcomers to their remarkable mission.

Here are some captured Taras’ thoughts. Enjoy!

▫️I would say, my style is surrealism. But at the same time, I don't tend to follow any trends in painting in order to minimize restrictions.
▪️I still don't understand how I became an artist. Since childhood, I’ve always thought I was a creative person. After my first exhibition I fully immersed myself in the world of creativity.
▫️I can't say art plays a specific role. Art is too vague to have any precise definition in the society.
▪️The impact I aim to have on viewers is to encourage them to ask themselves profound questions without fear.
▫️When the war rages on, the only plans you can build is for tomorrow. So, my only resolution is to work hard. It’s difficult to call it planning for he future.
▪️02/24/2022 affected me very much. I am one of those artists for whom suffering, unfortunately, is a source of creativity.
▫️I recommend visiting Mriya to get into high-quality Ukrainian art and to be a part of our journey.

2) Each artist is a separate planet of fantasy and creation. And we are so happy that Ukrainian artist, Anna Lugovska, has joined our Art Universe.
Take a look at some Anna’s thoughts from our interview below.

🔸My art often reflects rapid social changes in metaphorical form.
Even though I work with figurative art, I always leave space for a dialogue with a viewer. Therefore my artworks seem more abstract from a distance and reveal more details and narrative when you observe them up close. This comes from the principles of the monumental art.

🔸I want my artworks to appeal both to emotions and to rational perception of the viewer. I want them to inspire and make them think of vital things at the same time. The idea behind each of my artworks is always developed simultaneously with the visual composition.

🔸On the 24.02.2022, I was in Kyiv, where I had my art studio, my family, all my life… After I left, I haven’t been creating art for quite a long period, it wasn’t easy. At the same time I was happy to curate three art exhibitions that presented Ukrainian contemporary art in Switzerland in 2022. In September 2022 I had my personal exhibition in Geneva.

🔸Constantly visiting art exhibitions, I am convinced that you can enjoy the artwork much more seeing it in real life, in this case you have the dialogue with the artist. You have a chance to see all the details, unique technique, texture. Come to Mriya Gallery to see the diversity of Ukrainian contemporary art scene!

Introducing our headliner - wonderful Ganna Chekh! We got a pleasure to interview Ganna to get to know her better. Captured answers are below!

🔸My style is a blend of contemporary surrealism and expressionism. I love to use vivid colors and catchy cartoonish characters who play the role of guides in my art. Also, I can call myself a multitasking artist since I work with canvases, sculptures, digital art, technology, NFT, and interactive installation, too. It’s crucial for me to not have or feel any boundaries in my art journey.

🔸In my opinion, contemporary art should connect some of the most important milestones and notions in our life – imagination, emotional intelligence, involvement in technology, basic vision of nature and science. Art must draw public attention to these topics. I chose to work with them because these topics have a direct impact on our life. And art should help people make the right decisions in life.

🔸I plan to continue working on my international connections in countries and cities where my art is displayed now – like Dubai, New York, Tokyo, Barcelona, Paris, Bangkok, as well as establishing new collaborations in other places. Moreover, I’m working on collaborations with worldwide brands. I hope I’ll be able to break news about them soon.

🔸I think you should definitely visit Mriya Gallery because of an incredible energy present there. All artworks in the gallery possess a vivacious energy, which you’re able to feel only in real life. Mriya gallery is a team effort with big passion and mission in art. These guys are working hard to make an impact on the world of contemporary art. He knows how to "play" with clay. He turns shapeless materials into masterpieces. Happy to introduce our next art headliner – Alex Tenko, a talented Ukrainian sculptor. Sharing Alex’s captured thoughts from our interview below!

🔸I don't think I have a single style that permeates all of my works. I prefer a versatile representation of my performance. I like symbolism and abstraction as well as realism and futurism.

🔸In the beginning, it wasn’t my choice to become a sculptor, but my father's. As a result, for years I hated sculpture, and didn’t understand why such a profession existed at all. Only when a few years passed, while studying at The National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, I found my creative streak and got on my own path as an artist.

🔸 In my opinion, art always fulfills one goal– a reflection of the environment and one’s own feelings. Depending on the skill and artist’s feelings, it manifests itself in different ways.

🔸The plan for the nearest future is to work more with light. Perhaps, light is my favorite tool as of right now. It seems to create additional space in my sculptures.

🔸The war has changed the priorities, not only in creativity but in life in general. I think creativity itself has become more frank, more independent. As if there’s nothing superfluous, and creativity is just as simple as it can be.

🔸I think people should visit Mriya Gallery to see and feel contemporary Ukrainian art.
