On this week in Morris County history...
F***y L. Tiers, whose large "Farmlands" sat on Sand Spring Road in (then) Passaic Township, sold two nearby properties to her neighbor Gordon Forbes of Ravenswood Farm. The February 24, 1916 deed, now in MCHS archives, details that both tracts were sold to her by Ravenswood's original owner, William B. Blackwell, a grandson of the one founding fathers of Dover. Forbes continued Blackwell's dairy at Ravenswood until his death in 1918. The subsequent owner also continued the dairy, incorporating the Ravenswood Dairy Co.
