Today is Earth Day-50 years strong. Here is a challenge from all of us at the Heritage Center: take a look in your neighborhood, what can you do to make it better? Maybe it is picking up a little garbage, maybe it is something as simple as saying hey neighbor, you okay? Whatever you can do, please take the time to do it! If you want to make a difference in our world, start by making a difference in your community. It only takes a little ripple to start a tsunami!

New Richmond Trivia-The Willow River Lumber Company was established in 1881. It provided 300 jobs to the New Richmond area. The company buildings burned down in 1913 and was never rebuilt.

More NR trivia: New Richmond's first mayor was Ward S. Williams. O.L. Greaton and John Halvorson were alderman. S.N. Hawkins served as the city attorney and Charles Donahue a supervisor.

The Heritage Center is sad to report the passing of Mary Sather. Mary was instrumental in getting the New Richmond Preservation Society up and running! She worked tirelessly making it a better place to visit and learn about our community. Mary was dedicated to bringing the history of New Richmond to life, writing a book sharing what she had learned. If you had the opportunity to visit the Heritage complex, you might have seen her working tirelessly to weed the beautiful flower gardens. What an inspiration! She will be missed by so many. Her legacy will live on in many places throughout our community! To Irv and the rest of the Sather family, may God give you peace at this time! Our thoughts and prayers are with you! Rest in peace Mary!

The Heritage Center is amazing. If you are looking to take a step back in time, this is the place to go. A quick tour of the grounds brings you back to a simpler place and time. Make sure to bring the camera, there are many photo opportunities. Stop by the barn for a one of a kind buy! If you can't find something there to purchase, you are NOT looking hard enough! Can't get enough of the barn, consider becoming a volunteer!
Many thanks for opening your Farmhouse doors for our very special baby shower! It's a fitting celebration for baby Roethle since Alex and Jared were married at your wonderful establishment. Again, thank you so much and we will see you on the 6th! Samantha
I love the Heritage Center you never know the treasures you will find and the new to you items you will love. It is a great way to find items for your home and also clothes. It is also a great place to send your gently used home decor, tools, and clothes for other people to enjoy.
