COMING SOON: A New Home for Burlesque Art in the French Quarter
New Orleans, the tease is just beginning…
We are thrilled to announce the upcoming opening of The New Orleans Burlesque Gallery in the heart of the French Quarter. Dedicated to showcasing the beauty, rebellion, and raw power of the New Orleans burlesque scene.
Founded by J Hurt, celebrated visual artist and photographer known for his work as Hanged Man Photography () and co-owned and curated with Pinky DeVille (), internationally known burlesque performer, producer, and costumier, this gallery is the first space of its kind in New Orleans.
Together, we are creating a permanent home for the visual legacy, historical and current burlesque scene, one that honors the performers who make magic every night on stage, and the artists who capture that magic in stillness.
WE ARE NOW ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS
We are seeking to host work from local photographers, visual artists, mixed media creators, and more whose art lives within the worlds of burlesque, vaudeville, and sideshow. Think: performance portraiture, behind-the-scenes candids, costume inspired fine art, abstract interpretations, and more. All mediums are welcome, show us your vision.
