Founders Ball brings together an exceptional lineup of Louisiana musicians at The Cabildo on Thursday, November 5.

A native of Cypress Island, Jourdan Thibodeaux draws on the French language, music, and rural traditions of South Louisiana. A fiddler and songwriter whose work reflects generations of Cajun culture, Thibodeaux’s deep connection to the land and traditions of his home is particularly fitting for this year’s exhibition.

Renowned New Orleans drummer Johnny Vidacovich brings decades of jazz history to the evening with the Johnny Vidacovich Trio. A longtime member of Astral Project, Vidacovich has performed and recorded with legends including Professor Longhair, James Booker, and Dr. John.

Rounding out the lineup, The Desert Nudes bring their signature three-part harmonies, classic country, cowboy songs, and roots rock. Featuring J.P. Carmody, Dave Pomerleau, and Andre Bohren, the trio blends traditional American music with a distinctive New Orleans sensibility.

French Quarter Museum Night is one week away!
Join us on Thursday, July 2 for a free evening of after-hours museum experiences in the French Quarter.

Make sure to stop by The Cabildo for costumed interpreters, hands-on history, Escape the Cabildo game, and henna tattoos by New Orleans Henna.

The night wraps with a 7–8 p.m. reception at The Historic New Orleans Collection. Reception attendees will receive wristbands for entry to the after-party at Le Spectacle at Preservation Hall, including free admission to the 8:45 p.m. Preservation Hall All-Stars performance, capacity permitting.

The Louisiana Museum Foundation was pleased to host its Annual Meeting of the Membership on Monday, June 8, generously hosted by Tableau.

The evening provided an opportunity to reflect on the Foundation's accomplishments over the past year, celebrate the impact of our members and supporters, and welcome new members to the Board of Directors as we continue to advance the mission of the Louisiana State Museum and its properties across the state.

We extend our sincere thanks to Tableau for their hospitality and to all who joined us. We look forward to an exciting year ahead—including a special announcement coming soon about this fall's Founders Ball.
