Tomorrow night, Shadowwood Swamp opens. 🌙

The courtyard is starting to transform into the haunting swamp of our dreams!

Tanner will be unveiling his newest original during the event, costumes are required, and Best Costume wins a $1,000 Tanner Gallery Gift Card.

The first 10 guests to arrive will also receive gift bags with Tanner Gallery merch and a few extras, valued at $60+ each.

A crimson tent glows through the mist in Shadows of the Carnival, but Tanner leaves us to imagine what is happening inside.

That idea inspired this month’s Collector’s Journal, The World Behind the Curtain. We’re sharing the story of Immortals’ Ball, from the months spent transforming the gallery and courtyard to the moment guests arrive in costume and make the setting their own.

This year marks our third annual Ball. Join us at Tanner Gallery & Studio on Saturday, October 10, from 7 PM to 10 PM for Shadowwood Swamp and the private unveiling of a new Tanner original.

Early Bird admission for the Immortals’ Ball ends Monday, September 28th. 👁️

For one night only, Tanner Gallery transforms into Shadowwood Swamp, filled with moss, mist, shifting lights, and plenty to explore once you cross the threshold.
Tanner will unveil his newest original painting during the event, giving guests the first look before it is revealed to the public.

Costumes are required, and this year the Best Costume prize has doubled to a $1,000 Tanner Gallery Gift Card.

Join us Saturday, October 10th from 7 to 10 PM.
Early Bird tickets are available through September 28th. Regular admission will remain available afterward till the night of the ball.

As we are re curating the gallery for the upcoming fall season, we wanted to return to the Threshold series with two originals: Saw You First and Sanctum.

Painted earlier this year, the two originals reflect very different sides of Threshold. In Sanctum, the dark trees so familiar in Tanner’s work rise around the layered architecture and shifting lights throughout. Saw You First reminds us here at the gallery of Visionary Landscapes through the precision of the barren trees, and brings something more haunting behind the glass.

If either original has caught your eye before, this fall is a good time to take another look at Tanner’s emerging Threshold series.

When the light changes, a painting can begin to alter and reveal a glow from within.

This September, our Collector’s Journal looks at the role light plays in Tanner’s work and how they shift in colors and depth that can change what we notice in a piece.

Through a work we all love, "Where the Shadows Gather", we explore how these techniques have come to define the style of Tanner’s work and why the same painting can feel different from one part of the day to the next.
