When in doubt, revert back to childhood.There’s something magical about it.

Do I always paint in this way, no.
Is it a fun way to let off steam? Yes.

Everyday for the past month I’ve walked by and added a color to these, while my kids took a nap or went to sleep. My hours have turned into minutes and this was a way to get the creative juices flowing without burning the candle at both ends being a primary caretaker.

Update on our daughter: We have been seen by a highly suggested local doctor who takes special cases like Nyx and she has put her on a very strict organic diet and a hefty supplement protocol to calm down her nervous system.
We have all of her test results and she does test positive for antibodies attacking part of her brain, along with viruses and strep. It has been explained to me that it is common with children dealing with PANS and we shouldn’t be too alarmed but definitely need to take action steps now. We have also been advised to do a total toxin test to make sure she is not dealing with mold or heavy metals. Both doctors we spoke to suggest the intensive therapy session in Iowa for two weeks followed by diet and supplement changes for the foreseeable future. With donations we have been able to pay deposits and start the new normal. We have also been able to pay for both initial doctor visits and supplements for the next few months. Now, we are keeping this fundraiser open for the next month to help offset the costs of the intensives which total to $10,000. With a donation from a family member we have half of that. All donations are going to Iowa for the intensives and accommodations while we are there. Thank you all for your support on helping us get back to normal!

Bar Study 71- The Kerry Irish Pub

You know I started this whole thing with an Irish Pub and at this rate I probably will end it with one. I paint one every 10 bars. New Orleans is a lot of things, but it can be loyal 🇮🇪☘️

Once I left friends at a bar in the Quarter and said I was going to get an Irish coffee. If you know me you know that also means I’m stopping for art, bands, chat with random strangers along the way, hop in and out of places just because, pet a dog, find an alley to take photos of. Anyways when I arrived back they were flabbergasted because they ended up here and I ended up somewhere else far, far away. That was before everyone was glued to their phones so I would never even have thought to text. Now it all makes sense. I don’t get to hop in here anymore with a stroller but we do always pass by to see the fire trucks …..life is the same, same but different ⚜️

Bar Study 70- Black Penny Bar

I’ve been here one time. Let’s see how did that night go. It was our last stop on a very long Quarter night, I was handed $200 and put into an already paid for ride home, mostly because my husband had called to make sure I was okay since I have a tendency to wander and talk to strangers when allowed a night out. We were approached by a pr******te at the first red light. (First time for everything). The Uber driver said “My baby, we can’t even judge her she is just out here hustling in a different way.” And that my friend, is true, in so many ways. I think about that sentence often.

A dive bar feel with craft beer options, and a pretty hefty set of stellar bartenders. This is the place to go to feel like a local if you’re down in the Quarter. Only a few can make that vibe work. Black Penny 700 N. Rampart

The world has a way of reminding me that most of us are good people. The World Cup has been so fun to watch. It’s been exciting to see people so excited about the country I live in and things we take for granted every single day. It’s been dreamy to see people dancing in the streets together. Ever since the Knicks big win and the World Cup beginning I am reminded how special New Orleans is. (I know, what does that even have to do with any of it?) Well, we dance in the streets regularly, are joyful on sidewalks together at least once, or 20 times a year. Pure joy can be found 24-7-365.
It all reminded me of this house….. and I used to know the people across the street and they actually play soccer as professionally as one can in New Orleans, so this isn’t even a random prop. Have a great weekend! Dance in the street with someone ❤️
