NOLA Vox is a 40-member, all-voice vocal harmony ensemble dedicated to enriching lives through singing in New Orleans. Founded in 2023, the group provides a welcoming place for singers of different backgrounds and experience levels to make meaningful music, build community, and celebrate the distinctive musical culture of the city.

NOLA Vox held its first rehearsal in August 2023 and officially became the New Orleans chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society in May 2024. Under the direction of Cassie Schmitt, the ensemble performs music across genres and generations, with a particular focus on New Orleans artists, traditions, and musical styles.

In just a few seasons, NOLA Vox has grown into an active part of the region’s arts community. The ensemble produces its own concerts and performs at cultural, civic, and community events throughout Greater New Orleans. Performance highlights have included the historic St. Louis Cathedral, the Jefferson Parish Bicentennial Ball, and appearances at venues and events across the city.

NOLA Vox is also investing in the next generation of singers. In February 2026, the organization piloted a youth harmony program with local schools. That initiative is now expanding into the New Orleans Youth Harmony Festival, a free event for students in grades 8–12 planned for February 2027. Students will receive music, learning resources, ensemble instruction, coaching, and the opportunity to perform together in a public concert.

Entering its fourth season, NOLA Vox continues to expand its performances, collaborations, educational programs, and community outreach. The ensemble is proud to return to Culture Collision for a third year and connect with the artists, organizations, and audiences that make New Orleans’ cultural community so vibrant.

As the second largest affiliate of the Young Audiences National Network, Young Audiences of Louisiana (YALA) is the oldest and largest arts integration education nonprofit in Louisiana. Managed almost entirely by artists, YALA offers wraparound arts integration education services that include: afterschool and daytime arts integration programs and residencies; arts integration professional development for teaching artists, educators and school leaders; and workshops for caregivers. All of our programs combine academics, arts and culture in order to develop students intellectually and socially.

We make art magic happen through partnerships with local museums, community centers and places like Urban South Brewery where each year we throw one of the most fabulous art events in the city. YALA Art Live.

Young Audiences of Louisiana will be holding its seventh YALA Art Live fundraiser at Urban South Brewery on Saturday, October 17 from 12-4 pm.

This free community event centers around a unique type of visual performance art: live painting, a unique collaboration. Three professional visual artists are paired with three talented student artists to create large-scale works in real-time. This isn’t just about technique; it’s about providing students with a professional "entrepreneurial experience," allowing them to see their creative passion as a viable path forward.

“YALA Art Live creates a reciprocal relationship wherein students are able to interact with our broader community through the arts, and the community becomes aware of the talent and potential that exists in our New Orleans youth,” according to Jenny James, Co-Executive Director of YALA. “We strive to help students realize the many opportunities that arts education affords them. Pairing them up with a professional artist shows them they have the tools to work with an artist of that caliber, and gives them the confidence to know that art is an option for the future, whether they want to practice professionally or as a hobby.”

For 32 years, Greater New Orleans Youth Orchestras has brought together some of the most
talented young people in our region—and then watched them do extraordinary things.
And they really do come from all over. Public schools. Private schools. The North Shore. The South Shore. The West Bank. The River Parishes. Even Mississippi and Alabama. Our musicians range in age from 6 to pre-professional and play everything from strings, winds, brass, and
percussion to voice. Different ages, different instruments, different schools, different communities—all coming together because they love music and want to be part of something bigger.
They play at Carnegie Hall. They tour Europe. They win concerto competitions. They earn serious college scholarships and head off to some of the best colleges and universities in the country.
But here’s the part we love most: they’re not just amazing musicians.
They’re scientists. Athletes. Artists. Leaders. Volunteers. Scholars. Entrepreneurs. And, yes,
sometimes teenagers who still have homework to finish after rehearsal.
GNOYO has five orchestras, plus chamber ensembles, summer programs, an intergenerational
orchestra (for all you moms, dads, grandpas, grandmas, teachers, amateurs, and professionals
who want to make music alongside our students), and other outreach programs that give even
more young musicians a chance to find their people and find their voice.

At the Catholic Cultural Center of New Orleans, we create experiences and programs with the goal of leaving our guests with a sense of wonder. The arts can be a window into the grandeur of God and creation. The Louisiana Creole Research Association, Inc. (LA Creole) was founded on August 21, 2004, as a New Orleans-based nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing family
research, providing education and public programming, and celebrating the history, culture, contributions, and legacy of Louisiana Creole people.

For more than two decades, LA Creole has created opportunities for individuals and families to connect through genealogy, history, and cultural preservation. The
organization hosts an annual conference, presents two free public programs each year, and publishes an award-winning annual journal featuring both academic and
community-based essays that explore the many stories and experiences that shape Louisiana Creole heritage.

LA Creole has proudly partnered with numerous cultural and educational organizations, including the Midlo Center for New Orleans Studies, the HNOC, the LEH, Le Musée de
f.p.c., Xavier and Dillard University. Its diverse membership of more than 200 individuals continues to grow as individuals come together throughout the year to research family history, share knowledge, and celebrate Creole culture.

We invite all who are interested in genealogy, history, and cultural preservation to join LA Creole and become part of a community committed to keeping these stories alive.
